Feeling both nostalgic and reminiscing...

One year ago this weekend I went through the temple and made covenants with my Father in Heaven. This past year has been one of the best and one of the more trying years I've ever had. I have felt both like I was on top of the world and like I was lower than dirt. However, through it all I have been able to count on My Heavenly Father placing such amazing people in my life to help me learn and grow.

When I prepared myself a year ago to go through the temple I had no idea why or what life would bring to me afterwards, but I must say that being able to speak with my Father in Heaven and learn from in and then serve him in every way I can has helped me to become even more spiritual than I ever thought possible. Every day I feel like I'm learning something new and if I don't see his hand in it right away I eventually know that He is the one behind everything I do. No matter the trials I face daily I am learning how much He loves me and that as long as I follow Him I may be blessed throughout all that I do.

As I went to the temple today to reminisce on what happened one year ago and the joy it brought me I realized just how wonderful life truly is. Despite all the trials we have and the people that come and go in our lives the truth is that the Lord is constantly there for us. Those people that were with my both physically and spiritually last year were still with me today. I love each and everyone of them. I thank each of them for the friendships they have given to me. Also, one year ago my family was able to be there. All of my siblings and my parents! I loved having the opportunity to have each of them there. The Lord truly blesses us in more ways than we can ever think possible.

Livin' life and lovin' it!

So, my last post was kind of a rant! This one isn't though! It's about how much fun I'm having! Currently in church I have two callings. I am Assistant Ward Camp Director and Primary Chorister. Tomorrow I start the Primary Chorister and I'm both nervous and excited. I'm excited because I get to do it with the senior primary and a few of the kids I taught in 4th grade! They are such great kids too! This morning I got up and decided to see if I could find some fun stuff to work on the song scripture power with the kids. And It's so awesome I found some stuff for the second verse talking about the Armor of God! It made me smile. So after coming back from a birthday party for all the women who have birthdays in certain months in relief society I got to work on cutting out the pieces and my dad just gave me the idea to put magnets on them. I'm not sure why but all this stuff reminds me of the joy of teaching. I have yet to get a teaching job. Mostly because I still haven't passed that test in Idaho and thus, still don't have my certification. I have however, been looking into private schools, but I keep hitting stumbling blocks! I'm not sure what to do, but I know I'll figure it out. I was down in a slump for a bit, and I've been working on getting out of it! and I can sure say how thankful I am for amazing friends!  So, back to my callings. My other calling with being able to go to girl's camp has been very exciting and stressful! I am glad I have such amazing women to work with (especially Erin). She and I keep each other on track! Camp is at the end of this month and I'm more than excited to go! Just before I go to camp I get to go to Boise, Idaho cause my good friend and old roommate, Casey, is coming home from her mission and will be speaking in sacrament meeting! Yeah, life is sure fun! I've been able to spend time with old friends and new friends, but getting back on track has been amazing! I've learned how to look on the bright side of life! LOVE IT!

On another side note... next weekend will mark one year since I entered the temple of the Lord to make eternal covenants with Him. I am so grateful I have the temple and all the blessings it has brought to me within the last year! I do love to see the temple, and I can't wait until next weekend when I go to do a session to mark one year since I went through! Life is truly what we make of it! :D

Drama

This post isn't just about drama, but more about how I feel towards different things. Recently I had a little mishap on facebook with a friend of a friend, but the thing that stands out to me the most is that I received an apology. I think when drama occurs apologies are always acceptable, and all that were wrong in a situation should say it even if they don't think they were wrong. I have other friends that have gotten upset because of the same thing and I think everything has gotten way out of hand with all involved, but I'm sure in due time things will get better. I'm not a huge fan of any kind of drama. I've always tried to be friends with an ex and in my opinion it is possible as long as you both work at it. Yes, I've changed the subject, but for good reason. When my ex and I broke up over 6 years ago he reminded me of something I told him when we first started dating. I said, "no matter what happens you will always be my friend." He reminded me of that and since then no matter the trials we have stuck by each other trough the hardest of times. Recently another friend of mine had a huge break-up (well, in her mind that is what it was). She actually told him that she couldn't be his friend, and that is something that is foreign to me since the guy is a really awesome guy, and would love to be a friend. I think all of this relates to the drama though because I'm starting to realize how we all create the big drama events in our own lives because sometimes we over exaggerate the small insignificant things. I think if we all just took a step back and realized that life truly is what we make of it we will all be okay!

One of those things I just had to vent on... please enjoy this video because it is a good good life!
