What Christmas means to me.

I often get very irritated about this time of year. No, I'm not trying to be a Scrooge about Christmas... I actually have always enjoyed the happiness and peacefulness it brings to all. However, I feel as though as of late people get to wrapped up in the commercialization of it all. For example, this year I began to see Christmas stuff in the store before Labor Day! Christ never wanted us to forget about the other amazing holidays we celebrate. Also, in my opinion the news of what goes on in stores on Black Friday of how violent some people can be just makes me sad... yes, I know all people aren't like that and that makes me very happy. I didn't get in the spirit of Christmas until about a week ago. I decided it would be best for my students if I did. I think the biggest thing for me is that Christmas has never been about all the presents and all the things I want to have... to me it is really about remembering that because He was born He was able to grow up and teach others how to live righteously. I know I can never measure up to Him, but I do know that because of Him and the sacrifice He made for me I can live with my Father in Heaven. I know I am not perfect, but with His help I know that one day I will achieve perfection. All that read my blog know that Easter is my favorite holiday because of that price, but I do realize that if He hadn't been born He would have never been able to pay the price. So, I guess Christmas to me is about the best gift from God... My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If we all just remember that HE is the reason for the season our lives may be wonderful.
